YEAR PLAN

Pink and blue graphic

While there may be changes from year to year, the structure of our 1-year film programme is largely built on the same essential building blocks.

Here is an overview of the journey from arrival to graduation. A year at EFC is intense and often flies by because we are constantly working on new projects. The schedule is designed to accommodate major film productions, festival trips, and necessary breaks.

As a student, following 2 intro weeks, you will participate in three 6-week course blocks, each consisting of 4 weeks of classroom instruction and 2 weeks of film production (Course Exercises).

Furthermore, you will be able to attend a 4th course (with no course exercise) and a student trip to a European film festival. Towards the end of the stay, all students join forces to produce a series of Spring Films, your final film projects. And it all ends with an outro week and an (often) tearful goodbye.

Below you can see a rough outline of the year

Student trip

Every year in February, we all pack our bags and go on a study trip together to a European film festival. Over the years, the trip has taken us to Rotterdam and Berlin, among others, but in recent years we have visited the Göteborg Film Festival.

We travel together by bus and ferry, and we stay at a hostel. Several teachers join us, and sometimes members of the practical or administrative staff come along as well.

We put together a loose program with some tours and sightseeing - but there is also plenty of time for students to go on adventures on their own. And, of course, we participate in the film festival, booking most of the tickets from home with help from the teachers.

The study trip is paid for via your tuition, including some pocket money for food.
