Former student at the European Film College wins Silver Bear in Berlin

Former student Sturla Brandth Grøvlen was awarded with a Silver Bear at this year's Berlinale. He won for his camera work on the film 'Victoria'.

Several former students at the European Film College participated in the making of films competing at this year's Berlinale. One of them ended up with an award in his hand as cinematographer Sturla Brandth Grøvlen won a Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution in the film 'Victoria'. The film is made of one single 140-minute take.

Sturla was a student at the European Film College from 2001 to 2002 and trained as a cinematographer at The National Film School of Denmark.

We did an interview with Sturla in Berlin a couple of days prior to the award show. You can read the interview here.
