European Film College is tugged around the beautiful green hills in the outskirts of rural Ebeltoft, Denmark. Here, you can read a bit more about the surroundings that you will be able to enjoy as an EFC student.
All year round, students and employees can enjoy the changing of seasons and colors in their wonderful view of the wild nature from our main building. And still with the town of Ebeltoft only a short walk or bike ride away.
The town of Ebeltoft is a small, old market town by the sea, with houses and roads that date back to around the 14th century. Crooked old half-timbered houses and cobbled streets create a wonderful atmosphere that attracts many tourists.
The town is also the home of The Malt Factory, which is a culture center, hosting both festivals, concerts and markets all year round. There is a world-renowned museum of glass art, and there is the famous Frigate Jylland, a historic frigate which is now a museum.
So, although some of our students, who might arrive directly from the world’s largest cities, will experience somewhat of a culture chock – they realise that the area around European Film College has so many things to offer: beautiful nature walks, peace and time for reflection, swimming, shopping, and cultural experiences.
It is our experience that the area is very inspiring for young filmmakers, and that it creates the necessary peace to indulge yourself completely in the EFC community and the learning.
Our students live in double rooms (with a few single rooms, that you can apply for) - all rooms have their own bathroom. Students are roomed by gender (with gender-neutral rooms if an equal number of students apply for it) and with as mixed nationalities as possible.
Let's give you a tour
In this little film, the students will show you around the school.
