OUR FOOD

As a student at European Film College, you will be having all of your meals at the school, together with fellow students, teachers, and employees. This ads up to many hours spent around meals, and therefore it is important to us here at EFC. Below, you can read about the culture we wish to create around the food that we eat together.

Food and dining at EFC

At European Film College, we have a strong focus on our daily meals. We want them to be nourishing, relaxed and a strong basis for your rhythm and wellbeing.

We carry the national organic silver medal in the kitchen, because we use between 60 and 90 percent organic ingredients in our cooking. We also have a focus on sustainability, so more than half of our meals are mainly plant-based. When we serve meat, it is in strong connection with vegetables, and though smaller in portion, it is of a high quality. We collaborate with local growers and farmers and take effort in sourcing local and Danish ingredients, where it is possible and sensible.

We want mealtime to be a chance to have a break with your friends gathered around a fresh meal, where you share as a family. That is why we serve the main meals directly at your tables, so you don’t have to stand in a line at a buffet. Instead, you can spend your time sharing, talking and enjoying the food and each other's company instead.

We take pride in cooking your meals from scratch and hope we inspire you to relate in a new way to your own food and eating habits after your stay at the school. You might miss your parents’ cooking at times, or your own favorite snack, but we are confident that you will enjoy the smell of fresh baked bread in the morning and the fragrant aromas of spicy cooking while you are here, and maybe even miss us once you leave.

The kitchen is situated in the heart of the main building, and we are almost always there, preparing and cooking for your next meal. You will from time-to-time also have the pleasure of working together with us, when you are on kitchen duty.

As we have a lot of focus on serving plant-based meals, you are of course welcome to sign up for a vegetarian diet.

If you have allergies or other special requirements, we will have a talk and together work out how to handle this during your stay.

We hope to have raised your curiosity and that you may look forward to all your “family meals” at the school.

On behalf of the kitchen,

Head Chef Alexander Lindhard
