Final Film shortlisted for a BAFTA Student Film Award

One of European Film College's Final Films from the class of 2016-17 has been shortlisted for a BAFTA Student Film Award.


460 submissions from 35 different countries. Only 60 student films made it to the shortlist for a BAFTA Student Film Award, and one of European Film College's Final Films from 2016-17 made the cut.

The film shortlisted is 'What We Lose', directed by Jakob Mørk, written by Frederik Rye, and produced by Frederik Rye and Gríma Irmudóttir. It is about Vagn, an old school, conservative primary school teacher who lives a simple, secure and structured everyday life. But as Vagn's wife sinks deeper and deeper into dementia, he is struggling to keep his facade at work.

Nomination ceremony
The list of final nominees will be announced at a ceremony in London on May 17th. And the final BAFTA Student FIlm Award show will be held in Los Angeles on June 29th.
