18 Final Films go into production at European Film College

Animation, documentary, experimental film, fiction. The genres and themes are just as varied and colorful as the students at European Film College as this year's 18 graduation films go into full production.

The current students at European Film College started out with 49 proposals. And through intense pitching and development, 18 projects have now been picked to go into production and become graduation films of the 2017-18 film foundation programme.

Different genres, themes and locations
The 18 graduation films vary in genres, themes and production size. Coming-of-age drama, satiric comedy, children's film, violent existentialism, experimental documentary. It is going to be a very colorful palet of films presented at the end of the year.

Students will also film at very different locations. Some will stay in Ebeltoft, where there are many great locations, other will go to their home towns, and a few will travel abroad to shoot their films.

Gala screenings and festivals
The students will all come together to produce the 18 films in two waves. And the deadline for handing in the final films are in the beginning of May.

During the students' final week at European Film College, there will be first a closed screening and then a public gala screening of the graduation films in the school's big cinema, Big Bear. And after that, the films will hopefully travel to many film festivals across the globe.

Did you know that the application deadline for our next film foundation programme is April 1st? There is still time! Read more here.
