The Students Head for Berlin Film Festival

Each year the students of the European Film College attend the Berlin International Film Festival and this year is no exception. 120 film students from Ebeltoft are thus now in Berlin ready to network, go to master classes and not least watch a lot of great films.

Saturday evening two buses filled with excited EFC-students headed off to Berlin. Here the students will be attending the Berlinale for the next four days.

The students will all be staying at a hostel near Potsdamer Platz, the centre of the Berlinale. From here they are free to plan their festival as they like – whether it involves networking, attending film screenings, receptions or lectures. The idea is to give them a taste of the business that awaits them after their stay at The European Film College.

A lot of the students' activities will revolve around Berlinale Talents, a talent development section under the festival, dedicated to emerging filmmakers. Here the students are able to network and join master classes with some of the worlds' most renowned filmmakers – among others jury chairman Paul Verhoeven (Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Starship Troopers) as well as jury members actor Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight, Donnie Darko) and artist Olafur Eliasson.
