Description of a course week

During course periods we structure the weeks with a mixture of teaching, lectures, screenings, time to reflect and develop projects and of course some spare time to do sports, play music or just go for a walk in the area.

Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 9.00 from Monday till Friday.
The crew on morning-assignment meet at 8.00 in the kitchen.

Lunch is served from 12.30 to 13.00 from Monday till Friday.
Being there at 12.30 is very important – Lunchtime is where the daily messages are communicated.
The crew on lunch-assignment meet at 12.00 in the kitchen.

Dinner is served every day from 18.30 to 19.00.
The crew on dinner-assignment meet at 18.00 in the kitchen.

MONDAY:

10 to 11.45: First teaching session of the week.
Classes meet on time in the designated classrooms.

12.30-15.00 Teachers meeting

15 to 16.30: Crew teachers do one-on-one talks with students of his/her crew. Every week the crew teacher will do 3-4 talks and in a months time every one will have had the chance to get personal coaching from their crew teacher.

20 to 22: EFC Club
The EFC Club is where the students can see the official EFC screenings. Every screening will be introduced and debated – hosted by the Teacher of the Week - known as the TOW.
The EFC Club screenings are either a part of the weekly theme or serve as lead in to a Faculty Lecture, Common Lecture or a special guest lecture.
Members EFC Faculty and EFC guests pick out the EFC Club films.

TUESDAY:

10 to 12: Faculty Lecture

12 to 12.30: Weekly crew meeting – all crews and crew teachers meet in designate locations.

On Tuesdays the crews eat lunch together. We stress the importance of crew meetings, because the discussion of life at college, project status, party planning etc. is what forms your life while you are here. The weekly crew-meeting and crew-lunch gives the crew teacher an idea about the current state of the crew.

Every week the EFC Faculty or a special guest will give a 2-hour lecture on a topic where they have specialised. The tuesday morning time slot can also be used for a debate on current affairs in the film industry.

13.30: Hallway check

14 to 17: Class teaching

19.30 to 22.00: Ebeltoft Film Club
An independent board runs the Ebeltoft Film Club from the city of Ebeltoft and surroundings. The Film Club board picks 24 films, which are screened on Tuesdays. EFC students can buy a membership pass for all 24 films for 200,- DKK.
The repertoire is primarily award winners, art house masterpieces and quality films from the last 12 months.

WEDNESDAY:

10.00-12: Class teaching

12.30-13.00: Student Council
Every second week the Student Council will meet with principal Mette Damgaard-Sørensen to discuss the state of the EFC. Every crew picks a member for the council. One of the members will be President of the Student Council. The President will do the minutes, the scheduling and is the day-to-day contact between the student body and the principal.
