Per NielsenFinancial ManagerDanish
After college I went on a motorcycle trip to Aswan in Egypt. I worked for a while, until I saved money enough to take a trip across the USA. As part of the trip I attended a summer course in film production on University of Southern California. When I got back to Denmark I still hadn't had enough of seeing the world. I therefore worked again to save money. In 1983 I went on a trip from Denmark and around the Victoria lake in Africa in a 16 year-old Land Rover. When I got back, I finished a Diploma in IT and Economics in 1987. For more than 20 years I worked as a Financial Manager with IT responsibility. I worked for 17 years in the Pro Audio business and later on at ghd Scandinavia. Email: per.nielsen|europeanfilmcollege.com Phone: +45 8752 9180 |

Michael EnglystIT supervisorDanish
I've been working with IT as a hobby since the middle of the 80's and later on I started doing graphics work, first as traditional 2D and then moving quickly to 3D. The technical side of things have always interested me so in tandem with my graphics and programming work, I have a strong technical understanding and I'm good at problemsolving in general. Having spent 9 years in a AV company doing media work, I also have a good handle on media, be it encoding, playback and recording, as well as the technical knowledge of different systems related to media presentation. My primary role here at the EFC is making sure that the IT stuff works, and assisting my colleagues and the teachers in technical matters. I am a trained radio and TV technician, I have several years of experience from the technical world, and I have been an active player in the analogue and digital development that has taken place throughout the years. For 30 years I was an employee at Danmarks Radio / TV1 Produktion in Aarhus, and this was where I specialised in TV production. I have a lot of experience as a CCU technician both on large and smaller productions, and I have been travelling all around Denmark on music, theatre and sport transmissions. As a natural part of my job I have also worked with repairs, maintenance and upgrading of professional technical equipment and mounting and use of AV equipment. For periods of time I have also worked as an SNG operator. In my spare time I appreciate music in various genres, and I love a good film or a good book. Some people work as piano tuners - My destiny is to be a kitchen tuner! With a background as chef I've always been interested in the inner workings of a professional kitchen environment. This covers the purchase of ingredients, development of recipes, correct nutritional composition of menus and of course the well-being of the kitchen personel. Apart from the kitchen at EFC I also run the one at TV2 (a Danish national television channel) and I have my own catering company foodshop.dk offering high end gastronomy for special occasions. Having worked and lived in London, Copenhagen and Århus, I've now settled in Ebeltoft with my family and children. My experience as chef spans from haute cuisine (De 4 Årstider & Søren K) to funky café food (Cafe Sidewalk & Kafé Kopka) and superb ice-cream-production (Paradis Is). In Ebeltoft I split my working time between European Film College and Smag - a restaurant in Ebeltoft downtown serving mostly organic modern food. Besides the cooking, my main interest is photo- and video-art, and I'm sure some of the student productions at the college can be of some inspiration!
