Weekend events
Special events are often arranged at weekends. These may be presentations and screenings by
Board members, other industry professionals and
former students; one-off workshops in special subjects or the twice-yearly
Ebeltoft lectures, where distinguished figures from the international film world present and talk about their work. Saturday evenings are often devoted to screenings of classic films.
Social events
The different groups take turns to arrange social and cultural events, mainly on Friday evenings. These can be anything from live music to bowling, poetry readings, karaoke, evenings round a bonfire, celebrations of your national culture (the kitchen will be happy to cooperate) to themed parties with elaborate decorations. We count on your imagination to make them fun.
Sports
Every year we form
our own softball-league to make a thrilling tournament.
We have an arrangement with the local fitness-centre offering memberships at reduced prices to college students and the
public swimming pool (indoor) is a two-minutes walk from the college.
The surroundings of the college are ideal for both running, hiking, cycling and perhaps even winter-bathing!
On campus we have basketball and volleyball courts.
During the last years students have offered open classes to their companions in various sports such as capoeira, standard dance, ballet and breakdance. If you are trained in a certain area don't be shy - come forward and pass it on!
Public cinema
The main cinema,
Store Bjørn (“Big Bear”) is open to the public 3-4 times a week (Thursday to Sunday) and offers a mix of new releases, mainly from Denmark and the US. Students can buy tickets at a reduced price. On Tuesday nights the cinema is home to the
Ebeltoft Film Club, which screens outstanding contemporary and classic films from round the world.
Other activities
Students are invited to join the Docs Club (screenings every Monday), help run the Ebeltoft Film Club (Tuesday evenings) and contribute to the college yearbook,
Final Cut.
We welcome your initiatives to organize all sorts of other activities as well.
