Weekly schedule
The 8½ month program alternates between course periods and project periods. A course period is 3 weeks during which students are put in different classes (depending on which courses they have chosen in that specific period) and given a mix of theory-based class teaching and exercises where the different classes cooperate. Classes normally start at 10AM and finish at 5PM with a lunch break from 12.30 PM to 2 PM.
The duration of project periods is 2 weeks in the beginning of the course, and 5 weeks for the so-called Final Project in the end of the program.
There is no mandatory teaching in the weekends, but the faculty mentors weekend exercises for those students who wish to take part. The student's own productions - 8½ Minute Projects - are also made during the weekends.
Around and in between classes and project work students are free to do whatever they need to - play music, physical activities, trips to Århus or Copenhagen or simply hang around and discuss films!

CREW TEACHERS
When you join the college you’ll be assigned to one of seven crews, consisting of 13-14 students plus a teacher.
Your crew teacher is the first person to go to if you have a problem or anything you want to discuss. S/he will be on hand throughout the year to help you.
ASSIGNMENTS
The different crews take turns to
- serve the food (don't worry, you won't be cooking)
- do the washing up
- keep the school clean
- arrange social events
Every eight weeks your crew will be on assignment (four assignment-weeks in total). So when it’s your crew’s turn, everyone else in the school will be depending on you to get the food served on time, keep the place looking nice and provide some entertainment. The remaining 28 weeks they’ll do the same for you.
It’s essential that everyone turns up on time and plays his/her part - just as it is when you’re part of a film crew.
FOOD
We pride ourselves on our excellent food, made by professional chefs and experts in nutrition. Everything is made from fresh ingredients and we bake all our own bread. You’ll be served three meals a day plus healthy snacks in the afternoon. We cater for vegetarians, vegans and people on special diets.
Food nourishes our creativity as well as our bodies. The dining hall is the place where everyone comes together to eat, talk, exchange information and party.

Alcohol is not allowed in the main building unless served or sold by the college. Abuse of alcohol is not tolerated.
