THE END
The last blog entry. I couldn''t find anyone that has cherish his time at the EFC as much Peter. That is why, this last entry, this last blog, is written by him. Goodbye all.

Intro:
I’ve been asked to do a guest blog about the end of our stay at the EFC. This is to me quiet a challenge. There have been so many great blogs about great stuff such as independence and freedom at the EFC, fear, the perfect crew, Petru, boys and girls, script class, remakes, CPH:PIX and the most controversial one: Ketchup (I’m serious, look at the amount of comments). Well enough mumbo jumbo about other’s blogs. For better or worse here I go:
The blog:
About a week before I first sat my foot on EFC ground- as a new student - I had to get a new passport. When I put the application for the new passport over the counter the clerk asked an usual small talk question “where are you going?” I answered I was going to film college. She looked up from her computer and said “Lucky you. My college time was the best time I ever had”. I didn’t really take any notice of it and I eventually forgot it. Two weeks ago the memory suddenly reappeared in my head.
She was right!! I’ll miss the EFC life. I still love it, it has been the best time in my life, but now it’s all over. Cameras, avid suites, sound suites, cinemas, films, great advices, teachers, fantastic staff members, and great friends… and now it’s all over. We’ll go back home and we’ll be average nobodies to the people around us. This is of course far from true, but in the beginning it’ll probably feel that way. It’ll be tough.
Of course I’ve left educational institutions before. It was easy. Last day at gramma school: Teachers gave a pad on the head, fellow students said goodbye and I’ve never really seen or given them any thoughts again (with a few exceptions). Same thing with the gymnasium (a kind of high school). Pads on the head, goodbye fellow students, never really seen them or given them any thoughts again (again with a few exceptions). And now the turn has come to EFC. There will be no pad on the head from teachers and no goodbye from fellow students. There will be handshaking with mentors and tearful hugging with 100 real friends.
I’ll end with a quote. It’ll not be a film quote but a music quote. Vera Lynn once sang:
“We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when. But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.”
And, you know, hopefully we will.

Comments
Thank you
Well put Peter. Sincere but not sentimental and I'm pretty sure you've summoned up the whole thing very precisely.
